CBD for Sleep: Getting the Best Product

Lack of sleep can be an unfortunate fact of modern life, with some reports revealing that half of all Americans feel sleepy during the day because they suffer from insomnia at night. According to Forbes.com, a study released in April indicates that “a majority of CBD sleep products are mislabled, with 60% showing incorrect levels of active ingredients on their packaging. The study, released by CBD resource leafreport (sic), shows that more than half of the CBD products marketed as sleep aids contained levels of ingredients such as cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN) and melatonin that varied from label strength by over 10%.”

The article continues, “The most important thing to do is to make sure the brand utilizes a third-party testing lab…to ensure the product contains no harmful contaminants and that dosage is correct.” This according to Gal Shapira, a product manager at Leafreport.

What is CBD?

 CBD is short for cannabidiol. So, what is that? Good question. Cannabidiol is a cannabinoid–a molecular compound found in the cannabis plant.
